Screaming fits

The past week has been a difficult week for Reagan.  She has been more tired than usual during the mornings, although not much has changed with her sleep pattern or medications.  She has had more screaming fits than I can even count.  I don't know if the screaming is just another fun RS symptom, pain related, frustration from not being able to talk, or just a 2 year old thing...or maybe a combination of all the above.  We try to comfort her when she is upset but it only seems to upset her more.  Most of the time the only thing that will calm her down is her favorite tv show and there were a couple of days where even that didn't work.  I look forward to the day when she can communicate with me to voice the pain, frustration and choices that she would prefer.

  1. Hugs to you Dawn! I wish I could tell you what it was, if I could I would. That whole blocked communication thing really makes the 2's and 3's worse, by a lot! It will get better, you keep loving her and eventually rett will loosen it, grip. I hate that it is pissing her off and wearing you out in the process. xx

  5. Hugs to you and Reagan. So sorry she is getting so frustrated. Abby used to get so frustrated at that age too. She would scream, cry, and sometimes bite. She was inconsolable-we would end up letting her cry herself to sleep. It was so discouraging that comforting her seemed to make her more upset, but she has calmed down so much in the past year. I hope you and Reagan get some relief soon!!

  6. Wow, does that sound familiar. Juliana's show of choice was and is still Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I will say, the crying has definitely gotten better but the guessing games have not. I think that is what I hate the most - having to guess what is wrong with your daughter.
